I had a nervous breakdown 2 years ago and my ability to be creative was a godsend. It helped to quieten my irrational and fear based thoughts that were produced by my mental illness. Drawing, colouring and general craft became a go to tool to aid my recovery.

I will slowly add my line art to the blog for free. No strings attached.
I hope a little personal time, colouring will help to relieve stress and pressure in your daily life, even if it is only for a short while. Sadly I can't promise colouring will cure mental health (I wish!) but it sure does help.

Enjoy,
B :)

Chicken Fajita in slow cooker

Slow cooking is so easy and it is all done in one pot, so hardly any washing up! There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't use it. The other day I cooked a whole chicken in it, who knew eh?!

Living in a homless hostel on such a low income I had to learn how to cook cheaply. I'm so use to cooking for a family of four and no matter how much I try to cook for one I still prepare enough for four! therefore I figure I'd give up trying and use this to my advantage. So, I have one portion for tea and freeze 3, which means if I do this with every meal for a week, I have enough meals for a month!

yesterday I made chicken fajita in my slow cooker. The season mix is from Lidle and only cost 23p (I think!) and it is so tasty. For the last hour of cooking I add noodles to soak up all the sauce created by the steam in the slow cooker

Add onion, peppers, ribbon one carrot and chicken

Sprinkle two of the fajita season mix and add about 200ml of water.
Cook on high 3/4 hours
cook on low 6/8 hours
add noodles for the last hour (optional)
I promise you will not be disappointed, it is a taste sensation!
